Download this month's BLESSINGS

Recently free from military rule, Nigeria is a republic whose population's age averages just 18 years old. Many are poor and without basic food, clean water, or medical care. These young adult's potential might fade into a distant memory as they try to survive day to day.

Operation Blessing sponsored programs are giving Nigerians the opportunity to capture all that life has to offer through:

  1. Tending The Sick -- Critical, life-changing and general medical needs are all addressed by Operation Blessing initiatives in Nigeria.

    a. Medical Missions: Individuals that can't afford or don't have access to primary health care receive care during these short term medical missions. Considering over 30 million Africans have the AIDS virus, AIDS screening is a common service during the medical missions.

    b. Set a Child Free: Our team organizes surgery to correct cleft lips and palates for infants, children and teens who would otherwise have to endure a lifetime of ridicule and health problems. Local surgeons donate their time and talents in helping transform these lives.

    c. Surgeries: Partnering with skilled local surgeons, we sponsor life-saving surgeries for patients who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

  1. Equipping for Life -- We not only help people in times of crisis, but also assist them in overcoming forces that keep them in the vicious cycle of poverty.

    a. Living Waters: About 65% of Africans that live in rural villages don't have access to clean and adequate water supplies. Villagers are forced to drink from open wells, ponds and rivers. Living Waters identifies and drills wells in areas that do not have a tap connection directly to any type of well or water tank. Once clean water is flowing, water-born epidemics dramatically decline.

    d. Women Empowerment: Many women have lost their husbands to AIDS. Others have been abandoned, leaving them to provide for their children when there are no jobs to be found. This program brings hope into women's lives by equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to begin a worthwhile business.

Join us in breaking the cycle of suffering around the world. Please give a gift today!
