    War-torn villages receive food, water

Last month, OBI completed a distribution of UNICEF water systems supplying 37,300 residents with clean water.

In addition to the water systems, teams also distributed 18 tons of food such as beans, cheese, milk powder, and jam.

SOUTHERN LEBANON - For the 800 residents of Touloussa, a village in Southern Lebanon, relief has come in the form of a bright, yellow, 5,000-liter water tank.

After being peppered with bombs during the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, the water system of many villages was destroyed, leaving residents without access to a clean water source.

Last month, OBI completed a distribution of UNICEF water systems that are providing a temporary, centralized storage solution for villages and supplying 37,300 residents with clean water.

"These tanks have the potential to provide millions of liters of water to villagers throughout the region for weeks and months to come," said David Darg, OBI's assistant director of international programs.

OBI also distributed 18 tons of food such as beans, cheese, milk powder, and jam.

In addition to food, water, and other aid, Operation Blessing and German partner, Humedica, are treating an average of 460 people per week and providing much-needed medical care to those with no access to medicine or doctors.
