March 7th - This morning each of the fishing boats Operation Blessing had a hand
in building in Sri Lanka, brought in 150kg of fish. Books were also distributed
to school children. It is a joy to see the fishermen earning an income for their
families. |

This young mother brought her two small children to OB's medical clinic in a remote
region of Indonesia. Medical teams with OBI have treated thousands of children like
these throughout the tsunami effected areas.

daily, as teams continue to uncover tsunami victims amid the hundreds of miles of

Cities Home to Survivors
Sunny days are rare during Indonesia’s rainy season, so residents at the refugee
camp in Lhoong use the opportunity to dry their clothes after washing them in a
nearby river. Dozens of donated tents like these have become “home”
for survivors from the surrounding areas.

This mother in the village of Lhoong beams with gratitude when teams arrive from
OB Indonesia to provide medical care and emergency supplies. She and her daughter
are among the hundreds of refugees who have been struggling to cope since their
community was cut off by the tsunami’s destruction.

These brothers returned to their home on Meulaboh, Indonesia’s peninsula
to search for anything salvageable after the devastating tsunami. They left only
with bags of aluminum.

eat before OB Indonesia delivered family-sized boxes of food and other stable
supplies.

After spending almost an entire day digging through rubble and debris in downtown
Meulaboh, this young man’s hands were stained black from the thick layer
dust and dirt.

When the crushing waters rushed ashore, this mother clutched her baby tightly,
but she and the child both slipped underwater for more than a minute. Once they
were rescued, she turned the child upside down and black water gushed from the
baby’s mouth. Miraculously, the mother says her little girl seems perfectly
normal.
