    Mauricio Mayorga

    OBI COSTA RICA

    Mauricio Mayorga has been working with Operation Blessing International’s Latin America outreach center since 1997. In December 2004, he helped launch OBI Costa Rica and continues to serve as the regional director. Activities at OBI Costa Rica include short-term medical missions as well as extensive micro-enterprise programs such as courses in baking, sewing, and cosmetology for underprivileged women.

    Mauricio also played an intricate part in establishing outreach centers in Mexico and Brazil. In 1999, he received the Operation Blessing’s President’s Award, sighting his “innovation, integrity and excellence.”

    Before joining OBI, Mauricio’s worked for 20 years in television; more than, 10 years in administrative operations and management and also in fundraising at the Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C. He has even produced national newscasts and documentaries in Costa Rica.

    Mauricio holds a Bachelor of Science in broadcasting and business administration from John Brown University in Arkansas. He also earned a Master of Arts in television journalism and political communication at Regent University in Virginia and is currently pursuing his doctorate in leadership studies.

    Mauricio’s travels have spanned Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He lives with his wife and two daughters.
