SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Major relief efforts are underway in Southern California after raging wildfires destroyed thousands of acres and forced the evacuation of nearly one million residents.
The blaze charred more than 400,000 acres and burned 1,300 homes, according to published reports. Seven peopleare reported killed and at least 70 people have been injured.
OBI has delivered tractor-trailer truckloads of tea and bottled water to evacuees staying at Qualcom Stadium, home to the San Diego Chargers Football team and currently a temporary shelter and relief distribution site.

OBI delivered 42,500 pounds of tea and bottled water to Qualcomm Stadium, which has become a primary relief distribution site and temporary shelter for evacuees.

An additional truckload carrying 38,000 pounds of food will assist the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) and their volunteer efforts. OBI also helped set up a portable kitchen.
OBI is on stand-by for additional relief efforts and is in contact with The Salvation Army, Offices of the California Governor, Mayor's office of San Diego and Malibu and other local non-profits.
