OBI AFRICA
Ken Pettitt has managed Operation Blessing’s humanitarian activities
in South Africa since October 1998. In 2007, he was made the regional director for Africa. Representing both Operation Blessing and Go-Tell Communications, Ken’s leadership helps bring assistance
to about 5,500 struggling people each month. OBI activities include digging
fresh water wells, conducting education seminars, , HIV/AIDS and orphan care, and coordinating free
medical clinics as well as disaster relief aid.
Ken also works with other local and national organizations in developing
micro-enterprise programs that equip people with marketable skills.
Before moving into the humanitarian sector, Ken served in the military
and later became a successful businessman. He earned a degree in business
while in Sussex, England and attended a Bible school in South Africa.
Ken has traveled through most of Africa, Europe, and the U.S. and is an avid
diver and mountain climber. He lives with his wife and three daughters in Johannesburg, South Africa.
