 OBI BRAZIL
Dr. Daniel Schimenes joined Operation Blessing International in 2008 as the OBI representative for Brazil. Under Dan's direction, OBI has joined forces with area churches to help meet the physical needs of Brazilians.
Before his career in humanitarian aid, Dan graduated from the Dental School at Fluminense University in Rio de Janeiro, then worked as a dentist for 20 years. In 2002, Dan got involved with area social projects and from there, became the leader at ICA, a Brazilian nonprofit organization that develops health programs in remote areas along the coastal of Brazil.
He has organized almost 40 medical and dental missions in conjunction with area churches. In addition, he has developed relationships with communities in need by donating food, clothes, shoes, blankets, and books for schools as well as personal hygiene kits.
Daniel lives in Sao Paulo with his wife, Luciana, and their two children.
